July 14, 1932 – October 20, 2026
Deloris Ann Nielsen (née Alexander), 94, passed away on October 20, 2026, in Pawleys Island, South Carolina. Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Deloris spent many years on Long Island, New York, where she and her husband, Paul, raised their family. Following retirement, they relocated to Florida, making their home in and around the New Port Richey area for nearly 40 years. In her later years, Deloris moved to South Carolina to be closer to her granddaughter, Shelby, and her family.
Deloris was truly one of the kindest and sweetest souls to ever grace this world. She lived a life filled with love, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to her family, friends, and animals. To know Deloris was to be loved by her, and she had a remarkable gift for bringing happiness and comfort to everyone around her.
An avid animal lover, Deloris and her husband, Paul, always had a dog—or two, or three—by their side. They shared a special love for retired racing greyhounds. As a member of Pets Add Life, Deloris helped spread the joy and companionship of dogs throughout the New Port Richey community.
Deloris was also a passionate treasure hunter, never one to pass up a good yard sale or estate sale. As the owner of Clean Sweep Estate Sales, she turned that passion into a business, becoming well known for her enthusiasm and eye for hidden treasures.
Deloris was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Nielsen; her daughter, Diana Brown (née Nielsen); her son, Robert Nielsen; her granddaughter, Tara Gratz; her brothers, John and James Alexander; and her parents, Evelyn and Walter Alexander.
Deloris is survived by her granddaughter, Shelby Grimaldi (née Nielsen), and Shelby’s husband, Jordan Grimaldi. They will forever treasure the memories they shared with her and the special place she held in their lives.
To know her was to love her, and to be loved by her was a gift beyond measure.
