Dorothea Rankin Nemetz

Dorothy Nemetz, age 85, passed away on July 18,2024 peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born on December 15,1938 in the Bronx, New York and later moved to New Jersey after marrying the late Paul Nemetz Sr. In 1979, she moved to Florida with her husband and six children. She worked as a caregiver for most of her adult life until retirement. She is predeceased by her husband Paul Nemetz, Sr and son Paul Nemetz, Jr. She is survived by her children Cheryl Patrick, Jane and (John) VanMarter, Randy and (Jennifer) Nemetz, Ron and (Jane) Nemetz, Victoria and (Daniel) Garrison. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Christina Patrick, Ronnie Nemetz, Ashleigh Brunelle, Briannah Nemetz, Ryan VanMarter, Emily McDaniel, Jimmy Nemetz, Andrew Nemetz, Katelynn Nemetz and Abigail Garrison. She is also survived by 5 great grandchildren, Montgomery Nemetz, Isabella, Liliannah, Avery and Alivia Brunelle.

Dorothy lived a rich life in service and compassion to others that she cared for. She was known as a beacon of light and hope to many of her neighbor's by supplying meals, care and friendship to them. She was a daughter, wife, mother, aunt and friend. Dorothy's brilliant spirit, radiant smile and compassionate heart captivated everyone who had a chance to know her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but especially her family.

A visitation for Dorothea will be held Wednesday, July 24, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, followed by a funeral service from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.
