Duane G Balsley

Duane G Balsley Son, Father, Husband, & Grandfather. Was born November 24th, 1942 in Culver City, California. The Only Son of Gordan E & Stacia A Balsley. He grew up in Osage, IA. He worked in Juvenile Justice as a Program Analyst for 30 years. After retirement he moved to Smokey Mountains for 12 years. He loved the peaceful dwelling of Cylde, NC in the mountain. He loved golf, wrestling, and enjoyed many different kinds of beer. He followed Iowa Football and wrestling teams. He was a 3rd Degree Knight of Columbus and loved learning. He had two Bachelor’s Degrees one in Social Service, the other in Juvenile Justice. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Old Roman Catholic Church in Hudson, Florida. Duane was predeceased by his parents. Duane is survived by wife of 52 years Kathleen of New Port Richey, Florida. 4 Children Ashley of Port Richey, Florida, Michelle (Jeff) of Clermont, Florida, Kristina (Rob) of Fort Myers, Florida, and Son Matthew of New port Richey Florida.. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; Amanda (Chris) of Ohio, Sean of Winter Park, Florida, Ali, and Ethan of Fort Myers, Cassy of Port Richey, Tristen of Cape Coral, Ryan of Pennsylvania, William (Audrey) Clermont, Florida, Amanda, Rylan, Bradley of Virginia.

A funeral mass for Duane will be held Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, 8531 Bolton Ave, Hudson, FL 34667. Following the funeral mass will be a graveside service from 2:30 PM to 2:59 PM at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park, 12777 State Road 82, Fort Myers, FL 33913.
