Aunt Geneva always had a smile for everyone and it lit up her whole face!  I was lucky to have her around at some of the biggest events in my life and I am with her and her family in spirit at this most difficult time.  May her mind be finally clear and know that now she will see us all from above and that twinkle of recognition will be back in her eyes forever!

I am so thankful that God gave me such a large family.  As the youngest, I have dreaded the day when I would lose a sibling, and Geneva is the first of us to go.  How very sad we all are.  But, we also rejoice knowing that her suffering is over and she is now with Bob, our parents and most especially our Savior.  These last few years have been so difficult for us (her brothers and sisters) because we knew she was here, but lost in a world that with all of our medical advancements we still do not understand.  We are so glad that her children and grandchildren were able to care for her so well.  You all have been in our prayers for years.  I am blessed to have been able to come to Florida to see you all and to say goodbye to my beautiful sister.  I hope we will be able to stay in touch.

Aunt Geneva, watched me when I was a child, many years ago. Geneva and Bob where there for my Mother (Mildred) during a very difficult time.  They were both great to me and my family. I will remember their gentle spirit.

Mom,
Although you have passed, you will never be forgotten.  You will always be my "sunshine".  You were the best mom in the world.  I remember the times when I played little league baseball, you never missed a game and you were the loudest mom in the stands.  I remember the times I had done something wrong and you would always say, "just wait till your dad gets home".
I pray that you are now in Heaven, with dad and grandma, watching over us all now.
We will all join up with you again someday.

You were always there for me in good times and bad. I would always call you with all my problems and you would listen to me with an open heart. You don't know how much i missed being able to call you and talk to you about everything once you had your Alzheimer's. I missed being with you and going places together. We (you, dad, Tyke, and I) use to go to the track, JaiLai, and the dogs. We had so much fun together. We had a lot of cookouts at our house with all of our family, playing horse-shoes with dad and the guys (Ken, Bill, Russell, Tyke). I always looked up to you, you were a very special person. I will always miss you and think of you every day of my life. I feel horrible for all you went through these past years and wish there was something I could have said or done to make things different for you. You are so special to me and I know you know this from the way you would look at me. You could never be replaced and there aren't any words that could let you know how much you meant to me. One of the last things you said to me was, "I still have my daughter." Mom you were a wonderful woman and no one could ask for a better mother. You taught me unconditional love and you made me what I am today. I am forever grateful for all you have done for me and shown to me. You'll always be my sunshine, even on my darkest days. I love you!!!

Grandma,
Im starting to realize that I didn't spend as much time with you as I should have. I'm starting to dwell on those times as I speak. You were fighting Alzheimer's  for a very long time, and you started  forgetting thing like names, dates, and address's. It was a hard time for us all, but held on strong. I didn't fully understand what was happening to you, and i came realize that this is just gonna get harder. You held on for the longest time and your very strong for that. I'm greatful for all the times we spent together.  As i look at all of our pictures filled with our wonderfull memories of you, I start to think of how much I miss seeing your beautiful smiling face, and all the songs you sang. I can't stop myself from shedding a tear everytime I hear those songs. Now as I walk, my feet drag more and more with each step I take. Every step I take I realize that I am losing the pop to the steps that are being taken. I don't even look up at the sky, or bother to listen to the birds chirpping, or listen to the crickets, or even dare to listen to the sounds of the ocean knowing that you tok everything beautiful with you including the sunshine. I couldn't hold back the tears when I saw you laying there so...still, looking at how beautiful you truly are, and holding your cold....lifless hands in mine, as a whispered "I love and miss you!" Then I startyed thinking that i won't be able to see you unless it's in pictures. But thats ok I shall see you again later in life. I really do miss you and so does everyone else. I don't really know how to move on knowing I lost someone so dear. You were a very kind lady. You were never mean and treated people right. You were a very caring person. A very strong one at that. You have been through thick and thin and you still found a way to look at the brightside knowing that things weren't always gonna go the right way. You always put other people's problems before yours, no matter the size. You absolutely  adored spending spending time with your loving family, as we loved spending time with you. Im sure you want us all to not mourn over this dreadful sadness that is now brought into our lives since your gone but as your looking down on us, seeing us all cry as you can see that we all have pain in our hearts. The pain just gets worse and worse and feels like theres a hole there now. As god took your loving hands to a beautiful place he also made it to where you took a part of me and a part of everyone else here with you. With that you will always remember the love we all feel for you. We all know your in a better place now. You seemed to know whats right and wrong. You never let things get the best of you. You must have known what nevershoutnever says, :" Your only as tall, as your heart will let you be, and your only as small, as the world will make you seem. But when the going gets rough, and you feel like you may fall, just look on the brightside, your roughlt six feet tall." You always knew the right things to say. It's hard to function knowing that everytime I see my family in Kentucky, and when the family comes by to visit you won't be with them. I get chills when i hear your name, knowing that your gone..... gone forever. It's complicated for me to concentrate when your on my mind. You were a great mother, a great grand-mother, and a wonderful great-grandmother.

Dear Grandma,
We miss you. I know you are resting now and are with all your loved ones who passed before you. It gives me comfort to know that you are no longer suffering. Alzheimer's may have taken your memory, but it could never hinder your spirit. You always wore a smile and enjoyed the little things in life. You have showed us all what it is to really live and enjoy all life has to offer, even in the worst of times. You will always be in our hearts. You are  our sunshine even on the darkest of days.
