Mr. George Demint Jr., age 82, passed away on June 17, 2026. Born November 10, 1943, George will be remembered with deep respect and lasting gratitude for a life marked by steady devotion, quiet strength, and a sincere care for others.
Throughout his life, George carried himself with a gentle honesty and a thoughtful way of treating people that made others feel seen and valued. He was a kind-hearted presence—faithful in belief and generous in spirit—whose example spoke as clearly in everyday moments as it did in the larger seasons of life.
George worked as a mechanical draftsman, bringing a hard-working diligence to his craft and taking pride in doing things the right way. That same steady commitment shaped his life at home, where “family first” was not merely a saying but a guiding principle. He was married to his loving wife of 63 years, Deborah DeMint, and together they built a life rooted in love, faith, and enduring partnership.
A devoted husband and a beloved figure to those who knew him, George found purpose in caring for others in practical, meaningful ways—working around the house, lending the skill of a true handyman, and even taking joy in simple delights like rubber ducks. He and Deborah built their own home, a lasting reflection of the patient effort and faithful dedication that defined him.
George’s legacy is also carried in the many lives he touched through his commitment to helping children develop life skills, and helping them to know they were loved and cared for. Compassionate and steadfast, he was known for loving people and always being willing to help—offering support with a gentle spirit and a generous heart.
Visitation will be held at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, on June 25, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm. A Celebration of Life will follow from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A Committal Service will take place from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm, with a Reception afterward from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, all at the same location.
George will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for the faithful life he lived, the devotion he gave to his family, and the kindness he extended so freely to others.
