We are celebrating the life of Gloria Dean Harris, of Port Richey, Florida, age 88, born March 3, 1935 in Pittsburg, PA and her transition into the eternal Glory of God, her Heavenly Father, July 15, 2023. She enjoyed her life on earth in service to God as a nurse, wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and/or friend to countless people.
She was a pioneer as one of the first women of color to work as a nurse in the State of Georgia. She along with her deceased husband fought for justice in a dignified manner. She served on various church boards and raised 4 children. Gloria Harris is known to be a sweet, gentle, humble person, who had a calming effect on everyone she met. She let her light shine with a radiant smile. Her favorite book in the bible was Psalm 27.
She loved to cook, travel, shop, and spend times with her family, friends and children. She did not like cats. She is preceded upon her journey to Heaven by her mother and father Vera and Herman Allen and her husband Eunice C Harris who is no doubt, celebrating with her as we are here on earth.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her four daughters and sons and her son-in-law, Pamela Harris Hutchieson & (David) of Orlando, FL, Rodney Harris of Port Richey, FL, Lateefah Abdullah of Milwaukee, WI and Anthony (Tony) Harris of Port Richey, FL; her sister Doris Holmes Daniels of Americus, GA, her nine sons and daughters, one deceased; her sister-in-law, Mozell Harris and deceased brother-in-law Morris Harris, Jr. of Decatur GA, their eight sons and daughters, one deceased; and her deceased sister-in law of Akron, OH, Grace Booker, six sons and daughters, two deceased; her seven grandchildren, Ameerah, Tariq & Humzah Abdullah, and Ayesha Abdullah Ali & (Fauzon) of Milwaukee, WI, Lacosta Renee Harris of Arkansas and Yolanda Harris Lopez of Ft.
