Herbert Schlender, 81, of Port Richey Florida, died unexpectedly on March 13, 2016. Herb was born August 10, 1934 in New York City to Eric and Meta Schlender. He is predeceased by his son Robert. He is survived by his wife Sarah; sons Paul, Carl and Brian; daughters-in-law Karen and Joanne; granddaughters Samantha and Isabelle, and step grandson Christopher.
His lifelong occupation was a self-employed Master Builder, building many of the Hampton Estates along the Eastern Long Island coast. His hobbies included bowling and traveling. Upon retirement and subsequent move to Florida, Herbert was an active volunteer with CONA (Counsel Of Neighborhood Associations), Pasco County Sheriff’s Citizen Patrol, Pasco County Code Enforcement and Pasco County Republican Club.
Herb always had a smile and/or joked with everyone he came in contact with. He is dearly missed by his family, friends and neighbors. We are comforted to know he now dwells in glory with Robert and our Lord Jesus for all eternity.
