July 7, 1976 – November 1, 2026
John Wesley Myers II, 50, passed away unexpectedly on November 1, 2026. He was born on July 7, 1976 in Bloomington, Indiana and resided most recently in Holiday, Florida.
He was a devoted and beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He married the love of his life, Jennifer, on December 19, 1998 and for 28 years have worn matching wedding bands engraved “Forever and Always.” Together they shared a lifetime of love and adventure with their children, Dylan and Jarrett.
John was a man of exceptional intelligence and wit, a voracious reader with a mind for facts and was an endless source of obscure knowledge. He had a remarkable ability to retain information and was rarely without an answer or opinion no matter the topic. He especially enjoyed watching the trivia show, The Floor, with Jennifer and the kids and never failed to impress (annoy) them by knowing the majority of the answers. Spending time with his family was one of his favorite things to do and he seldom missed an opportunity to do so.
He had a natural gift and passion for music, was a talented musician and could play music by ear on both electric and acoustic guitar. He enjoyed attending concerts and The Reverend Horton Heat and The Allman Brothers were among his favorite bands. John regularly serenaded Jennifer with his guitar and she continued to fall a willing victim to his musical stylings throughout their marriage.
John had a deep appreciation for outdoor adventure. He loved mountain biking with friends and family in Brown County, Indiana, which always held a special place in his heart. He and Jennifer loved traveling together and exploring new places with North Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Louisiana, and New Mexico among their favorites. They lived together in Illinois, Indiana and Arizona before settling in Holiday, Florida.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 28 years, Jennifer; son Dylan and daughter Jarrett, whom he affectionately called "Sis"; his beloved cat, Shadow; his father, John Myers, and stepmother, Judy Myers; his brother, Andy (Jamie) Myers; his sister, Carleigh (Andrew) Carter; and his nieces, Mallory, Marli, Coraline, and Melody.
John will be remembered for his remarkable intelligence, musical talent, strong work ethic, love of adventure, and, most importantly, his love and devotion to his family. John will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered in Brown County, Indiana, among the forest trails and beauty of the place he loved so dearly.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
