He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy; three daughters, Deborah Clifton (John) of North Carolina, Diane Connolly (Raymond) of Arizona and Cynthia Czatt (Stephen) of Virginia. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kristen Reeves, Nicholas Czatt and Melanie Phillips, and two great grandchildren, Kayla and Dylan Reeves.
He served honorably in the Korean War as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. Joe retired from General Motors as a Product Design Engineer after 42 years where he received several patents for his work. He was also a golfer, bowler and stamp collector.
He moved to Florida from Norwalk, OH twenty years ago where he was the Chairman of the City Planning Commission. He was also a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church where he served as an Eucharistic Minister, the Knights of Columbus Council #11680 and was a past Grand Knight and Knight of the Year. He was also a member of the Father Powers Assembly (4th Degree, Sir Knight).
Family and friends are invited to the Meadowlawn Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL from 6 p.m.-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 1, 2018, to celebrate Joe’s life. There will be a funeral mass on Friday, November 2, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in New Port Richey.
