We are sad to announce the passing of Joy K Paul of Weeki Wachee, FL. She passed at the age of 88 on September 21, 2023. Joy passed away surrounded by her immediate family and loved ones. She is survived by her daughter, Sonya L Curry and husband Kevin J Curry of Weeki Wachee, FL, and their two daughters Morgan Matott of Weeki Wachee, FL and Kelley Smith of Oswego, IL. Joy is also survived by her son, Robert Paul Jr. and Kerry Paul of Palatka, FL; along with their 5 children Chad Paul of Weeki Wachee, FL, Sean Paul of Temple, Texas, Jordan Paul of Schenectady, NY, Braden Feagan and Gracie Cooley of Palatka, FL . Joy is also survived by her 4 great grandchildren; Emma and Chase Matott of Weeki Wachee, FL along with Madyson and Kaelyn Smith of Oswego, IL. She is also survived by her sisters; Janet Coryea of Plattsburg, NY along with Sandra and Ronald Reynolds of Chateaugay, NY along with many nieces and nephews.
Joy and her late husband Robert Paul Sr. (Bob) were married for 58 wonderful years. They had a passion for each other that will be a long-lasting example for anyone that was lucky enough to know them. They enjoyed life to the fullest. Their biggest joy was to go camping and attend blue grass festivals. Joy loved to play her guitar and sing alongside her beloved sister Janet and lifelong friends. Bob and Joy also loved to ride their Harley Davidson throughout the Eastern United States. Their most memorable trip on their Harley was their trip to Sturgis, South Dakota.
Joy’s working career started following her high school graduation from Ellenburg Central High School in Ellenburg, NY as an Administrative Assistant at Munsil Law Firm in Ellenburg Depot, NY. In 1969 Joy and her family moved to Largo, FL where they resided until 1997. After her retirement from Feaster Funeral Homes following an impressive 28-year career as Office Manager, Joy and Bob relocated to Weeki Wachee, FL. They both lived out their final years in Weeki Wachee while also vacationing in Upstate, NY to spend time with family and friends nearly every summers.
Joy will be missed by so many. To know her is to love her! She was the light that brightened a room. Her family has peace knowing she is with her beloved Bob again. A Celebration of Life will be held on what would have been her 89th birthday, October 26th
