June Birmingham, 89, of Safety Harbor, FL passed away at the home of her daughter, Patricia Donnelly, in Blairsville, GA on (DATE). She was born on Staten Island, NY to the late Arthur and Agnes (nee Hilberer) Birmingham. Her husband, John A. Birmingham predeceased her on January 9, 1997. A 1946 graduate of Curtis High School, she worked for the phone company in Manhattan. Later on she worked as a toll collector for the NYNJ Port Authority at several of the Staten Island bridges. After she retired, June and her husband John moved from Sayreville, NJ to Hudson, Florida, then to Port Richey.
June is survived by three daughters, Carol Van Alphen (Ken Sorensen) of Conway, SC; Patricia (David) Donnelly of Blairsville, GA and Safety Harbor, FL; Lynn Brown of Marble NC; two stepdaughters, June (Robert) Lundy of Jacksonville, FL; Carol (Ernest) Serna of Green Cove Springs, FL; a stepson, Michael Birmingham, of Orange Park, FL, eleven grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, June was predeceased by her son William Van Alphen (Sept. 2017), and her brothers, Arthur F. Birmingham, Jerome Birmingham, and Charles Birmingham.
June will be buried alongside her husband John in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
