Lottie went to the hands of the Lord, as were her wishes at home, surrounded by her loving family on September 17, 2011. Lottie was born in Zukspar, Iowa on February 22, 1915. She grew up in So Chicago, Illinois, where she attended school, worked for the Continental Casualty Company and American School, married and raised her family.
Lottie was preceded in death by her dear husband Carlos Alvarez, parents Vio & Dragica Vukobratovich, sisters Ann Delich, Sophia Zatezalo, Marija Stojanovich, brothers Michael Vukobratovich, Roger Vukobratovich, and her beloved son William “Vaso” Klasne. She also leaves behind her loving children, Peter & Viola Alvarez, Bonnie & William Conner, Robert Alvarez, Lola & Mike Milic, Charlene and Dusan Coric and dear brother Robert Vukobratovich as well as 23 Grandchildren, 20 Great Grandchildren and 5 Great Great Grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was a committed Christian all her life and a member of the St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Lansing, Illinois. A past member of the Moose Lodge in Holiday, Florida and St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Clearwater, Florida.
Lottie loved life. She enjoyed traveling, driving her car and whistling as she drove along the road, usually picking up one of her grand children to ride along with her to sight see and stop for lunch. She also enjoyed crocheting. Many family and friends cherish the beautiful spreads, baby blankets, baby booties, baby caps, slippers and hats she crocheted. She had a unique style and pattern and she continued to crochet every night- making sure that family and friends had a loving remembrance from her.
Lottie never missed a birthday, anniversary or special event for anyone. She always made sure to send a card, with her love, best wishes and a touching note.
Probably her favorite past time was fishing. She enjoyed visiting family in Minnesota with her husband Carlos. Everyone shared in their trips for they always brought home plenty of fish to share with family and neighbors.
Lottie will be fondly remembered of course by her loving family but also by so many friends from all walks in life, whose hearts she had touched in her own special way. Her smile always made you feel welcomed and loved.
Lottie will truly be missed but not forgotten. May our beloved Mother and friend rest in peace.
Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday September 21 from 2-4 & 6-8 in the Chapel of North/Meadowlawn Funeral Home with a service on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens.
