Linda A. Galka ,age 64, passed away Saturday, May 2 at Kindred Hospital in Tampa. Linda was born in Roslyn Heights,NY , daughter to Thaddeus Jr & Elizabeth F. Brandt, oldest of five children.
She was married to Richard Galka on September 14, 1975 @ St. Isadores Roman Catholic Church in Riverhead, NY.
She held many jobs over the years but found her calling to nursing after she moved to New Port Richey, FL from NY in 1987. After working many years as a CNA, she went back to school and worked hard to earn her LPN. She worked as an LPN for many years at Community Hospital in NPR.
She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in New Port Richey. She was never worried about herself and always downplayed any ailments as no big deal and nothing to worry about. She loved keeping updated on facebook and participated in lots of 'likes' and comments that read more like a postcard. And if you were lucky enough to have a phone conversation, you would know to have a time slot in mind and that she would be taking up a lot of the airspace, with you planning interceptions in the conversation. We will cherish many memories that we are fortunate to have.We know you will be keeping close tabs on all of our major events in life (and maybe even some small ones not so great). We will be missing you terribly and thinking of you often. Fly high with all of our other special angels and know that we love you so very much.
She is survived by husband, Richie Galka of New Port Richey; son, Richard J. Galka of New Port Richey; daughter, Janice & Andy Page along with 2 grandchildren,Spencer & Delaney of Raleigh,NC. She also leaves behind three of her siblings and a multitude of extended family. There will be a celebration of life at a later date.

My heartfelt sympathy and condolences go out to Richie and family. Linda and I were good friends for many years. I was a brides maid at their wedding. Unfortunately , we lost touch when she and Richie moved to Florida. I have many fond memories of our friendship over the years especially high school where we first met. RIP my friend. Heaven gained another angel.
