Louisa A. Guenette
July 22, 1950 – July 19, 2026
Louisa A. Guenette passed away peacefully at home on July 19, 2026, just days before her 76th birthday, surrounded by the comfort and love of family.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Louisa was the daughter of the late Romana Sullivan. She built a career in administrative roles, working for Filene’s/May Company and later with Elder Services, where she was known for her dedication, reliability, and caring nature.
Above all else, Louisa found joy in caring for those she loved. She had a gift for bringing people together around the table, and her homemade meatballs became legendary among family and friends. Her warmth, quiet strength, and generous spirit made everyone who entered her home feel welcome.
Louisa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Guenette.
She leaves behind her devoted son, Kevin Matta, and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Gaskin-Matta; her stepchildren, Andrea Deshais, Joseph Guenette Jr., and Rindy Baker; her cherished feline companions, Muffy and Samantha; a host of dear friends throughout Massachusetts; and the many neighbors and friends who became her community in Big Sandy, Tennessee.
Louisa will be remembered for her kindness, her resilience, her love of family, and the simple yet meaningful ways she showed her love every day. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will live on in the meals shared around the table, the stories told, and the love she gave so freely.
A Celebration of Louisa’s Life will be held on Friday, August 7, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Meadowlawn Funeral Home, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, Florida. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor her life, share memories, and celebrate the lasting impact she made on all who knew and loved her.
May her memory be a blessing, and may she rest in eternal peace.
