

Michael Matthew James (birthname Michael Francis Ostrowski) 79, of Port Richey, Florida passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 2, 1946 to William Eugene and Mary Antonette (Brophy) Ostrowski. His father was a Sergeant in the Army, so he grew up accustomed to traveling. Michael graduated with a degree in Foreign Affairs from Georgetown University in Washington D.C. He worked in the U.S. Senate, GTE Bell Atlantic, Verizon, and IBM as a main frame programmer. His favorite things to do was watching the history channel, reading books, riding bicycles, and walking. His favorite games were cribbage and sequence. He is survived by his wife, Rhonda (Dudley) Springhart James of Port Richey, Florida; step- children Michael (Karen) Springhart, Elicia (Wesley) Weaver, Nathan Springhart, Aaron Springhart, and Kyle Springhart Sr; 12 step-grandchildren; sister, Maureen (Ostrowski) Roy Hoard of Topanga, California; and a nephew Ian Roy.
A Visitation Service will be held at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, located at 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, FL 34652, on December 3, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
A Graveside Service will follow at the same location on December 3, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 2:30 pm.
