Naomi was born on December 3, 1916 in Bladen, Nebraska, the daughter of Arthur and Frances Larrick, and was raised on the farm. She graduated from Bladen High School and attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. Naomi was married to Russell B. Peterson on January 10, 1945 in Knoxville, Tennessee. To this union were born three children; Cindy, Steven and Mary. Naomi passed away on October 5, 2018 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She led an interesting life having a variety of professions including being a school teacher in a one-room school; working for the Department of the Defense during World War II in Denver, Colorado and Oak Ridge, Tennessee; owning and operating a Dairy Queen in Faribault, Minnesota; and working at Weeki Wachee Springs in Florida. After her three children were
born, she became a full time mother and raised her children in New Port Richey, Florida and Greeley, Colorado. Naomi loved to read, especially biographies, and was always interested in the people around her.
Naomi will be remembered as a loving parent and grandparent to those left behind. She was preceded in death by her son, Steven Peterson, her daughter, Cindy Davies, brother, Ron Larrick, and her stepson-in-law, Bill Nienkamp. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Hurley, her two sons-in-law, Jim Hurley and Marc Davies, and her stepdaughters, Bonnie Nienkamp and Sue Clement and husband Rod Clement. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
A service celebrating her life will be held at Meadowlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4244 Madison Street, New Port Richey, Florida on October 24th at 10am.
