Paul became a sports enthusiast at an early age when he started playing for the Caraway Highschool Tigers. During his high school years, he was on the basketball, baseball, and football teams. His love for sports continued into his adult life, by becoming an expert at fantasy football, and coaching his daughters and other neighborhood children on various basketball techniques. Paul enjoyed spending time cheering and watching some of his favorite teams such as the Tampa Bay Bucs, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the Orlando Magic.
Paul joined the U.S Navy in December of 1982 where he was awarded the Second Battle "E" Ribbon, Second Sea Service Ribbon, Navy Expeditionary Medal, and the Navy Unit Commendation. He ended his Naval career in December of 1988, when he and his family relocated to Largo, FL, and he started his Customer Service career.
While stationed in Norfolk, VA Paul met his wife Kolleen at a local movie theater where they both were standing in the popcorn line. After knowing each other for only three months, Paul and Kolleen married and just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary.
Paul is survived by his beloved mother, Jackie; his sister April, his wife Kolleen; his daughters Shannon and Brittany; his sons in-law Adam and Joshua; and his brother and sister in-law Kevin and Heidi. Paul was an amazing Papa and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren Maddie, Collin, Adam, Alina, Lilyanna, Mason, and his great grandson Damon.
His love for music was instilled into his daughters, who, in turn, passed it on to his grandchildren. Many memories were created listening to music, singing karaoke, playing trivia games, including the infamous Kevin Bacon game from Mad About You.
He was preceded in death by his father Paul Edward Carroll Sr, his in-laws Frank and Janice Kohler as well as many cherished friends.
"The song has ended, but the melody lingers on. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure."
