Phyllis Greytak, age 82, of Hudson, Florida, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
Born on March 2, 1944, in Jackson Heights, Queens, New York, Phyllis grew up with a deep appreciation for family and the values that would guide her throughout her life. She graduated from Newtown High School in 1961 and carried the friendships and memories of her early years with her wherever she went.
On April 25, 1965, she married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Greytak. Together they shared more than 61 wonderful years of marriage, building a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Through every season of life, they remained devoted partners, finding happiness in both everyday moments and new adventures together.
As a dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother, Phyllis devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family. Her greatest joy came from caring for those she loved and creating a home where everyone felt welcomed and cared for. She celebrated every milestone, treasured every holiday, and looked forward to every opportunity to bring her family together. Whether it was preparing meals, sharing stories around the table, or simply enjoying each other's company, Phyllis understood that life's greatest blessings were found in the people she loved most.
Nothing made her happier than spending time with her children and her beloved granddaughter, Angelina Rose, who held a very special place in her heart. She took immense pride in watching her family grow and always offered unconditional love, encouragement, and support.
Phyllis had a vibrant personality and enjoyed life's simple pleasures. She loved spending afternoons playing bingo, browsing her favorite stores while shopping, and trying her luck at the casino. She especially enjoyed the excitement and fun these outings brought, particularly when shared with family and friends.
Some of her fondest memories were made alongside her husband, Bob. She loved climbing onto the back of his Harley-Davidson motorcycle for long rides together, enjoying the freedom of the open road and the adventures they shared. She was also proud to be Bob's "first mate" aboard their boat, where the two spent many peaceful days on the water, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Bob and Phyllis also enjoyed spending time together traveling the open road. Spending time vacationing in Key West or the mountains, even spending time cruising. Exploring the world together was so important.
Phyllis will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the genuine kindness she showed to everyone she met. She had a wonderful sense of humor, loved to laugh, and had a way of making family gatherings brighter simply by being there. Her greatest accomplishment was the loving family she helped build, and the countless memories she leaves behind will continue to bring comfort and smiles for years to come.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Bob Greytak; her children, Karen (Anthony) Borrelli, Robert Greytak Jr., and Steven (Jenn) Greytak; and her cherished granddaughter, Angelina Rose Greytak.
She is also survived by her brother, Edward (Gail) Colletti; her cousins, Vivian Kirschner, John Kirschner, Cathy and Lou Ladimer, Pat Colletti, Nicky and Jay Rebekka, Michael, Carmen, Eliana, Lucas, Alex, Lisa (Daniel) Pickett and their children, Joshua and Jeremy, Lynn Buynak, Paul Buynak, and Cory (Ali) Buynak, Richie Sparling.
She was preceded in death by her brother, James Colletti, and his wife, Mary Colletti.
Though she will be deeply missed, the love Phyllis shared so freely, the traditions she created, and the memories she made with those closest to her will remain forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her legacy is one of devotion, compassion, laughter, and an enduring love for family.
