Reyin Velez

She was a caring mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She raised three children and went on to

raise her grandkids, Bobby, Christian and Myvette, with the help of the love of her life, Luis Velez.

She loved spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking. She also loved making baby

blankets and bows. She was a kind soul and enjoyed laughing and singing to Marc Anthony.

Reyin suffered from Alzheimer's towards the end of her life. Sometimes she was with us,

sometimes she was not, but she was always surrounded by loved ones. The Alzheimer years

were the hardest and most beautiful years. It showed us that the smallest things become the best

things - simple shared times, a joke, a hug, a kiss, a laugh - something we all forget in the rush of

the usual everyday life. She taught us to treasure the tiny moments. Her death is the sign of a

new dawn. She is now in Heaven alongside her husband, daughter and many other family

members. In her new journey she is fully aware of her surroundings and is now watching over

her loved ones.

She will be missed dearly, but we will take with us the memories.
