
Mr. Davis was born in Grand Rapids, MI, on March 16, 1932, to the late Roy and Adeline Davis. He graduated from Catholic Central High School in Grand Rapids in 1950 and later was a student at New Haven College in New Haven, CT.
Mr. Davis proudly served in the US Coast Guard from 1950-54 and was a lighthouse keeper at Southeast Light, Block Island, RI, during that time. In recent years, Dick was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in New Port Richey, FL.
The majority of Dick’s career was spent in the fields of manufacturing and medical sales, for which he received national recognition and many awards. He traveled extensively for work in the southeastern US, as well as to Germany, Greece, Ethiopia, and England during his early career.
Throughout his life, Dick was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching and participating in sports, especially golf, tennis, and fishing.
Mr. Davis is survived by three children, Kathleen Davis Williams of Cheshire, CT, Steven Edward Davis of Norway, MI, and Susan Mary Feaster of Ivoryton, CT; five grandchildren, Rebecca, Liam, Gillian, Taryn, and Conn; a brother and sister-in-law, James and Karen Davis, of Belmont, MI; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a granddaughter, Cailin, and a brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Josie Davis, of Grand Rapids, MI. Dick is also survived by devoted friends Tom Plyler, Kay Ashton, and George Kibbe, whom he loved dearly, as well as many beloved friends near and far.
