

Robert E. Gantt entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 2 at the Sunshine Christian Home, Holiday, FL. He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Kathryn Nisley Gantt; his four loving children, Valerie Palmer, Robert Gantt, Debra Gantt, and Christopher Gantt; six grandchildren; sisters Betty Wade, Edith Redding, Lillian Smith, Roberta Butler, and brother Richard “Al” Gantt.
Born June 19, 1925 in Wila, PA to McKinley and Mosselene Gantt, he grew up in Mansville, PA. He was a WWII veteran, serving in the Army, followed by a distinguished career at the American Can Company. In 1986, he retired to Crystal River and later, Holiday, FL, dedicating his time to community service and good works, including oversight of the construction of the Christian Church of Holiday, and volunteer work at the Sunshine Christian Home.
A memorial service will be held at the Sunshine Christian Home, 5250 Whippoorwill Drive, Holiday, Florida, 34690, at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, October 5. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sunshine Christian Home at the above address, or the Christian Church of Holiday, 5724 State Road 54, New Port Richey, FL 34652.
