

Ron McIntosh, 77, died March 5th in New Port Richey, Fl., after a two year battle with cancer.
Elected by the Loyal Order of Moose as outstanding citizen in 1966, he moved to Reading that year to pursue a career in journalism that lasted more than 25 years. He was awarded winning reporter and editor for newspapers including the Reading Times, Scranton Times, Orlando Sentinel and Knight-Ridder Newspapers.
Holder of a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism and photo journalism from Empire State College, State University of New York, and a Master of Arts degree in mass communication from Pittsburg, Ks., State University, he was an instructor at Independence Community College 13 years and an adjunct instructor at Pasco-Hernando, Fl., State College 10 years.
In 2006, McIntosh wrote and published Bowler's Handbook which was sold across the U.S. as well as internationally.
McIntosh is survived by his widow, Paulett, three daughters and six grandchildren.
