Tim was born on April 11, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Louis and Dorothy. He received his undergraduate from Michigan State University, B.A. with honors and his M.D from Wayne State University. Tim continued his post-graduate studies at the University of Minnesota Hospital and finished with his Residency- Fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Hospital specializing in General, Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery in September of 1974. During this period he received his military commission on November 21, 1967 USNRMC at the rank of Lieutenant Commander. After moving to New Port Richey in 1974, Tim established his practice and began working as a surgeon for Community Hospital until he retired in 2003.
Tim is survived by his wife, Kathleen; four children, Kathleen Hoedebeck (Jeff), Jennifer Wiedrick, Deirdre Tschanz (Stacy) and Daniel Aylward (Lisa); two step-children, Bryan Wentz (Katherine) and Debra Clark (Steven) and 19 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Dorothy.
Captain Tim was an avid boater and deep water fisherman. He especially loved Blue Marlin fishing and won several tournaments as a member of the Virgin Islands Game Fishing Club. Tim enjoyed foreign travel, particularly his visits to Ireland where he discovered his ‘home away from home’, in the villages of Dingle and Cloghane.
A huge sports fan, Tim loved watching his Michigan State Spartans. He was a regular at the local Irish Pub where they knew his team preference and how he liked his pint of Guinness.
Tim would consider his family to be his greatest accomplishment. He was happiest surrounded by his children and grandchildren with whom he shared his love of the water and fishing skills.
Tim was a tall and dignified man. His large stature was only exemplified by his quiet yet mighty presence. Tim was truly a Captain in many aspects of his life.
Tim was a faithful servant of God, an active and dedicated member of St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church.
