

Born in the Bronx on October 4, 1932, Bill was the heart of his large and lively Italian family. Raised in a home filled with relatives, laughter and strong family traditions, he developed the warmth and loyalty that would define his life. A smart, agile and enterprising teenager, he worked numerous jobs to help support his family at home.
Bill proudly served his country in the Korean War, achieving the rank of Sergeant and earning the admiration and respect of the men in his platoon.
Following his military service, Bill built a distinguished and respected career in the music industry. He began as a road manager in the late 1950s, working with artists including singer Jerry Vale and The Four Lads.
In the mid-1960s, Bill partnered with his brother, Dee Anthony, to form Bandana Management, one of the era’s most influential artist management firms, representing legendary artists including Humble Pie, Peter Frampton, the J. Geils Band and Peter Allen.
Later in his career, Bill served as General Manager of Au Bar, Howard Stein’s exclusive Upper East Side supper club. From its opening in 1987 through its nearly two-decade run, Au Bar became one of New York City’s most celebrated gathering places for actors, artists, musicians and members of New York society. Bill was at the center of its vibrant atmosphere.
A beloved figure on the Upper East Side, Bill could often be found at his favorite neighborhood spots, especially the Silver Star Diner and Bloomingdale’s. Friends and neighbors knew him as someone who always had time for a conversation, a story and a laugh. He was known by all for his warmth, effortless charm and quick sense of humor.
At his core, Bill’s greatest devotion was to his family. He was a steady and loving presence and a source of strength and joy to all who knew him.
He is survived by his devoted nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces and sister-in-law.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 11 AM at the Frank E. Campbell Funeral Chapel in New York City.
Bill lived a full and colorful life, rich with stories, laughter and a deep love of family. His warmth, humor and generous spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by the many friends and family whose lives he touched.
