Marie-Claude Wrenn-Myers

Marie-Claude Palmieri Wrenn-Myers, Esq., daughter of the Hon. Edmund L. Palmieri and Claude Cécile Verron, was a reporter, accomplished author, and dedicated prosecutor whose boundless vivaciousness and determination defined every chapter of her life. She passed away peacefully in 2026 at the age of 87.

Born in 1938, she attended the Chapin School in New York City before earning her undergraduate degree from Mount Holyoke College, including one year at the Institut d’Études Politiques in France. Her early career began working for the U.S. State Department at the embassy in Paris for two years. She then worked as a reporter for Life magazine during the age of photojournalism, as a freelance journalist, and as a published author of the 1977 book "You're the Only One Here Who Doesn't Look Like a Doctor."

Balancing the demands of raising two young children with her characteristic energy and determination, she earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law, becoming a member of the Bar Association in Nevada (1991) and New York (1995). Following law school, Marie-Claude served for two years as a federal law clerk and subsequently joined the Kings County District Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn, New York, serving as an Assistant District Attorney in the Appeals Division for twenty years. Marie-Claude was also on the board of French American Aid for Children for many years, a charity her mother helped found 81 years ago. In retirement, she performed pro bono work and was recognized for her service by the NY Unified Court System.

She was previously married to McDonald E. Wrenn Jr. (deceased), with whom she had two children. She later married Robert A. Myers in 2007. Her beloved son, Edmund Wrenn, passed in 2013 and her family takes solace that she is now with her son and parents.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert A. Myers; her son, McDonald Edward Wrenn III, and his wife, Malin M. Wrenn; her cherished grandchildren: Isabelle, Charlotte, and Tyler; her sister, Michelle P. Warren; and her brother, Alain S. Palmieri.

A celebration of life and funeral mass will be held at Saint Joseph Church, 404 E 87th St., on Tuesday, September 8th at 10:00 AM
