

Alice Faye Herrell of Chandler, Indiana, passed away on July 18, 2026 at the age of 77. Faye was born on September 29, 1948, in Greenville, Kentucky. She lived in Muhlenberg County until her senior year of high school, then she and her family moved to Indiana.
Faye graduated from South Spencer High School with the Class of 1966. She worked as a customer service representative for the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles from 2000 until her retirement in 2014. Faye enjoyed traveling and cherished the time she spent with her daughters. A devoted member of St. Clement Catholic Parish for more than 40 years, her faith was an important part of her life.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Cecil and Billie Mae (Lile) Browning; her brother, Richard Browning; her uncle, Charlie Browning, and her beloved dog, Baylee.
Faye is survived by her husband of 54 years, William “Bill” Herrell; daughters, Samantha Herrell of Owensboro, Kentucky, and Jennifer Herrell of Newburgh, Indiana; son, David Herrell (Crystal) of Newburgh, Indiana, and granddaughters, Ashlyn and Brynley Herrell.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and techs of Deaconess Gateway Hospital for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in her final weeks of life.
A Funeral Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, July 23, 2026 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Fr. Jim Sauer with interment to follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Newburgh, Indiana. Family and friends may visit Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
