

He graduated from Oakland City High School and upon graduation enlisted in the US Navy. Allan was very proud to have served his country. He was stationed at Guantanamo Bay on the USS Hyades when Castro’s regime took over Cuba.
He married Shirley (Mason) Crecelius on June 25, 1966. They became the proud parents of a son, Heath Allan, in 1968.
After Allan got out of the Navy, he worked for a while in the oil fields in Odessa, TX. He retired from Amax Wright Mine after 22 years and SIGECO after 13 years. He was a member of the UMWA and IBEW. Allan made friends and enjoyed his fellow workers, was dependable and had a good work ethic.
Allan attended and was a member of Abundant Life Community Church for 30 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, and brother, Burt Lee Crecelius.
Allan is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Heath (Patty); granddaughter, Mina; sisters-in-law, Fern Crecelius, Gloria Mason and Linda Weitkamp; and 5 nephews and nieces, whom he loved dearly.
Thanks to the staff of Newburgh Healthcare and Heritage Hospice for their care of Allan. Thanks also to the family and friends that supported us through this journey, as well as the doctors that provided for his health care.
Visitation will be Wednesday 10:00 a.m. with a service at 12:00 p.m. Central Standard Time, at Alexander Funeral Home Newburgh Chapel. The service will be conducted by Pastors Troy Boulware and Mark Short. Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time at Spurgeon Cemetery, Spurgeon, IN.
