Allen Odell Lené

Allen Odell Lené, our beloved husband, father, and Pop, met his Lord and Savior on May 16, 2024. Allen was born in Waco, Texas on June 22, 1942 to Francis Allen and Vernon Odell Lené. He spent his formative years in Texas and Alaska, living out amazing experiences that later made incredible stories for his children and grandchildren.

Allen graduated from Baylor University in 1963 and joined the United States Navy, where he spent three years serving in the Philippines. He would eventually retire as a Naval Commander after a distinguished career. He returned home from overseas to marry the love of his life, Pamela Hobby in 1967.

Allen had a sharp, analytical mind and spent years working as a Systems Analyst, retiring from Atlas Van Lines in 2006. He spent his free time singing in the church choir, working on endless projects around his home and attending various activities for kids and grandkids. After retiring, he proudly served as the maintenance man for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon chapter at the University of Evansville, later becoming an honorary member.

Allen was a man of deep compassion, known for his philanthropic spirit. He was committed to giving and helping those in need, always trying to make a positive impact and sharing the love of Jesus with those near and far.

Allen will be remembered for his warm heart, strong character, and the profound love he had for his family. He leaves behind a legacy of service, generosity, and unwavering dedication to those he loved.

He also leaves behind his wife, Pamela, children Emily (Matt) Holweger, Jonathan (Katie) Lené, and Jessica (Chris) Doty. He adored his grandchildren Mitchell, Andrew, and Lila Lené, Reid, Elyse, Louise and Thaddeus Holweger, and Gabriel and Lucas Doty.

Visitation will be held on June 22nd from 9-11 AM at Living Word Church in Newburgh, Indiana with a service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Evansville Rescue Mission, a cause dear to Allen’s heart.
