Amara Catherine Tucker

September 11, 2019February 28, 2020

Amara Catherine Tucker passed peacefully at home with family on Friday, February 28, 2020. She made her grand entrance on September 11 in Omaha, Nebraska.

Fighting against the odds, she braved open heart surgery, lived in 3 different states, traveled over 1000 miles, and touched many lives, all while making our hearts melt with her big blue eyes, cute chubby cheeks and adorable cleft smile. Despite her short life, she challenged people to love and care for others unconditionally by setting aside misconceptions and stereotypes. This elevates her hero status in our book and she will forever be missed.

Amara is survived by her parents, Matt and Catie Tucker; brother, Truett Tucker; grandparents, Ken and Cathy Cooper, Alva and Trecia Tucker; uncles, Casey Cooper (Jackie), Cody Cooper (Chyla), Collin Cooper (Lacy), and Landon Tucker (Naomi); aunt, Brianne Stutzman (Carson) and several fun cousins.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 2, 2020 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh, IN. A private burial will be held at Alexander Memorial Park.

Please join the family in celebrating Amara at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at Crossroads Christian Church, 10800 Lincoln Ave., Newburgh, IN.

I met Ken, Amara’s grandpa, on a plane. He was traveling to visit his granddaughter. We had a pleasant conversation. My prayers are with you all, as you celebrate how she touched many lives before getting to go and dance in Jesus arms. Amara will be missed.
