Barbara was the daughter of the late Francis Solomon and Eva May Easton, and was born on December 11, 1940, in Brockton, MA. She was one of eight children, growing up alongside her brothers Francis Solomon, Robert Solomon, Richard Solomon, Kenny Solomon, Vernon Solomon and her sisters Shirley Solomon Amari, and Joanne Solomon.
After graduating from Brockton High School in 1958, Barbara married Robert Rogers and together they raised three daughters and a son in Abington, MA. In 1978, Barbara and her family relocated to Phoenix, AZ, where she lived for 20 years and worked as an office manager at Mayo Furniture. She moved to Evansville, IN in 1999, where she joined First Federal Savings Bank in 2000, dedicating 20 years of service there before retiring in April of 2021.
Barbara was known for her grace and warmth. A natural at baking, she delighted family and friends with tarts, pies, cheesecake, and other desserts. Her grandchildren fondly remember her as their “Gram”, who spent time with them baking cookies, coloring Easter eggs, and making birthdays special. She poured love into holiday traditions and enjoyed spending time at home with family. She was gentle in her words and made everyone around her feel cherished and loved.
She is survived by her children: daughter Debra Rogers and her husband Michael Tessier of Newburgh, IN; son Robert Rogers Jr. of Newburgh, IN; daughter Marlene Hayes Rogers of Bloomington, IN; and daughter Karen Rogers of Bloomington, IN.
