Bobby Hazelip

On February 26th, 2024, Bobby Russell Hazelip, of Newburgh IN left his earthly home to be reunited with his love, Theresa, in heaven. He was born April 7th, 1936 in Evansville IN to the late Wiley P. and Ida Belle (Roberts) Hazelip.

He worked at Busler Enterprises for many years and then owned and operated Hazelip General Repair for over 20 years. After retiring from contracting, he helped his wife run an in home daycare and had many kids that he loved, taught and aggravated. Bobby was a member of St. John's Catholic Church and recently was attending Mt. Olive General Baptist Church. He enjoyed making crosses and passing them out, going to flea markets & yard sales and telling stories about his life and Cherokee Indian heritage.

Bobby is survived by his children, Bobby Lee (Sharon), Debi Finn (David), Tina Reeves, Derek (Tina) and Heath (Carrie); grandchildren, Brian (Ashley), Terry (Aly), Russell (Hannah), Neil (Hayley), Heidi (Ira), Austin (Serena), Justin, Annie (Brandon), Jacob, Daniel, Hayley, Hunter and Hayden; great-grandchildren, Nolan, Alec, Cale, Simon, Bianca, Bryce, Bridgett, Junior, Maxwell, Mason, Jacsen, Hunter, Shelby and Leo; nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Stella. He also has 6 surviving siblings, Charmaine, Sue, Ann, Bill, Bruce and David.

A short funeral service will be held at 10:45 a.m., Friday, March 1, 2024 at Mt. Olive General Baptist Church, 4377 State Rd 261, Newburgh IN, officiated by Pastor Josh Slater with entombment in Park Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to service time where there will be coffee and donuts in the side hospitality room (per Bobby's request).
