Obituary of Brenda Rogers
Brenda L. Rogers, 75, of Newburgh, was called home by her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. She was born November 5, 1944 to Thelma Hines (Dillback). At age 18, she met George, the love of her life. She married him just 40 days later. They loved to dance when they were younger and would steal the floor at times. Along their 54 year journey together they had three children, George III, Robert and Melissa (better known to some as Trace, Bobby and Missy). They were so proud of their three grandchildren, Jennifer Joseph and Myleigh. They spent a great deal of time with them creating precious memories that will be forever treasured. Nothing meant more to them than their family. In her spare time, Brenda enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, watching talk shows, Days of Our Lives and Crime TV. But she loved spending time with her family and friends the most. The last Saturday in June was probably her favorite day of the year. This is when the annual Mansfield Family Reunion is held. She was always excited to see everyone. Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, George; son, Bobby; her mother; maternal grandparents; in-laws, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by her son, Trace (companion Tonya) of Newburgh; daughter, Melissa (Paul) of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren, Jennifer, Joseph and Myleigh Flahaut of Lafayette, IN; aunt, Shirley, and many, many cousins. Brenda chose cremation instead of burial. Due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 virus, a celebration of life service will be held at a later date, hopefully this summer. Since they cannot meet with you at this time, her family requests that instead of flowers, you send a card or note sharing your favorite memory of her. They will find that priceless. Please be sure to include your mailing address so they can notify you of Brenda’s service date and time, which will be held at Alexander Newburgh Chapel. The family would like to thank the entire staff of Unit 4800 at Deaconess Midtown. Your kindness, compassion and care of not only her, but us as well was beyond compare and greatly appreciated! Please send your cards to: Melissa Flahaut, 719 Park Avenue, Lafayette, IN 47904. Condolences may be made online at www.AlexanderNewburghChapel.com.
