Brent A. Holcomb

Brent A. Holcomb, 54, of Newburgh, IN, was called home to walk on the streets of gold with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 1, 2018, at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was a man of faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await him upon leaving this Earth. He was born in New Castle, IN on May 12, 1964 to Larry and Linda (Shortridge) Holcomb. Brent graduated in 1982 from Shenandoah High School, and in 1984 from Vincennes University with an A.S. Degree in Laser and Electro-Optics Technology. After a career spanning 16 years in the Indianapolis area as a Laser Technician and CNC Programmer, he relocated to Newburgh, IN and he began his career in Quality at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, where he worked for 16 years. Brent’s greatest joys in his life spent on this earth was spending time with his family and friends, working on home improvement projects, involvement in church activities, relaxing on his tropical deck, and helping others! He was loved by everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missed by his family who completely adore him. Brent stepped up and was a father when he didn’t have to be! But the bond he has with his sweet granddaughter, Gracelynn is something incredible, she would walk in and his smile was so big! He couldn’t wait to take Hunter fishing! Besides many friends that he cherished greatly, Brent is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Lisa (McCormick) to whom he was absolutely devoted; daughter, Ashley Owens (Kevin) of Newburgh, IN; sons, Jerry Guffy (Brittany) of Newburgh, Brian Holcomb (Kassi) of Princeton, IN; estranged daughter, Meagan Holcomb of Mt. Carmel, IL; twin brother, Brad of New Castle, IN; grandchildren, Brayden Guffy, Gracelynn, Hunter, and Jaeda Owens, Ava and Madison Holcomb, Alexis Ellerbrook, Corey Willis, as well as many members of his extended family. He will also be missed by our fur babies, Peyton and Kalyan who love him dearly. Funeral Services will be held 6:00 PM, Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Pastor Brett Nicholson. Friends may visit 3:00 PM until service time on Thursday at the funeral home. Please come dressed in your favorite tropical attire.
