Camilla R. Vantrease

She was a woman of deep faith who gave her life to Christ on September 25, 1960, at the age of 12, at New Harmony Missionary Baptist Church. She later attended Calvary Missionary Baptist Church for more than 20 years.

Camilla worked as a nanny for 15 years. In retirement she volunteered as a Santa’s elf, helping him answer letters from children from Santa Claus, IN. Camilla also volunteered at the Salvation Army and the Tri-State Multiple Sclerosis Association. Reading was her favorite hobby.

Camilla was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Jerry Vantrease and her son, Eddie Vantrease.

She is survived by her daughters, Jackie Pitt (Steve), Jill Partain, and Dina Anderson (Rob); grandchildren, Jared Sharp (Sarah), Jamie Adkins (Spencer), Morgan Vantrease and Jordan Partain (Bryn); great grandchildren, Jackson, Mia, Annie, Jace, Connor, Caden, and Miles; brother, William Kirby;and a niece and nephew.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 7, 2026 at Felts Cemetery in Logan County, Kentucky.
