

Carl E. Foley, 82, of Chandler, IN, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. He was born July 22, 1932, in Springerton, IL to the late Carl and Emma (Hood) Foley.
He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. Carl was a member of the VFW Post 114 in Carmi, IL. He retired from Alcoa in 1997 after 32 years. He was an avid Cardinal fan. He enjoyed playing baseball and softball. Carl enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was an excellent basketball and baseball player and coach. He was of the Protestant faith.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Joan South.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Eleanor (Large) Foley; daughter, Christine Skinner (Terry) of Newburgh; sons, Rick Foley (Theresa) of Chandler and Mike Foley (Lisa) of Boonville; daughter, Carla Greening (Fiancé, Troy Hanvy) of Evansville; grandchildren, Brent Skinner (Jenn), Ryan Skinner (Mandi), Matthew Foley, Nic Skinner (Amanda), Kevin Foley (Lauren), Josh Horton (Stephani), Jacob Foley, Sarah Foley, Jenna Kayser (Matt), Paul Foley, Cyle Greening; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Sondra Taylor (Charles) of Johnston City, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, January 9, 2015, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Rev. Gary Marshall with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be performed at the cemetery by American Legion Kapperman Post 44. Friends may visit Thursday, 4-8 PM, and Friday 9:30 AM until service time at the funeral home.
