

Carolyn J. Nurrenbern, 89, of Newburgh, IN passed away Thursday, August 18, 2017, at Walnut Creek Alzheimer’s Special Care Center. She was born June 12, 1928, in Evansville, IN to the late George and Elva Riner.
She was a member of the Evansville Metropolitan Homebuilders Association. Carolyn was also a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Mt. Vernon and later in life became a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh. She enjoyed gardening and was devoted to her home and family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; daughter, Joyce Fellows; brother, George C. Riner, Jr.; and son-in-law, John Gray.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Gray of Newburgh, Janet Dunigan (Patrick) of Bloomington; son, Glenn Nurrenbern (Bea) of Evansville; grandchildren, Stephanie Gutzweiler (Steve), Andrea Kneubuhler (Jason), Derek Fellows (Peggi), Aaron Fellows (Amber), Tonya Wassell (Mark), Tiffany Nurrenbern, Shaun Nurrenbern, Christopher Dunigan, Kelly Dunigan; great-grandchildren, Mac, Alex, Grayson, and Maria Gutzweiler, Jake and Paige Kneubuhler, Matthew and Charlotte Fellows, and Carolyn Wassell; step grandchildren, Emily Black and Ben Mayfield; step great-grandchildren, Chase Day, Hudson Black, Lilly Mayfield, Mary Mayfield; and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10: 00 AM, Monday, August 21, 2017, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church officiated by Rev. John Pfister with burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Friends may visit 2-6 PM on Sunday at Alexander Newburgh Chapel.
