

He was born February 26, 1933.
He attended Bosse High School and Evansville College. Charles was an Army veteran tank commander. He came from a baseball family, playing baseball himself in high school, college and the Army. He worked at Liberty Auto Salvage and later worked many years as an industrial machinist. He was a master craftsman, doing custom inlays, building remote control boats and leather crafting. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvester and Thelma (Knoll) Simon, and his wife of 55 years, Penny Simon.
He is survived by daughters, Tammy Reitz (Tom) and Dawn Willrodt (Mick); grandchildren, Dan Reitz (Meghan), and Rosanna Coor (Philip); 3 great grandchildren; sister, Sylvia Watters (Wayne); niece, Kiersten Mays (Ray), and nephews, Kip Diekmann and Kawn Watters (Amanda).
A Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261.
