Clara was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh. Clara’s husband of 73 years, Lawrence Roman, preceded her in death on July 29, 2012. She enjoyed baking, gardening, reading, and most of all sewing. She made many beautiful quilts in her lifetime and would present her children and grandchildren with a quilt upon their marriages.
Although money was scarce while she was raising her 12 children, she managed to keep them all well dressed with her homemade creations, and also well fed with her delicious home cooked meals.
Clara was the last surviving member of the Ochsner family of 12 children. She was preceded in death by brothers, Albert, Frank, Edwin, John and Tony; sisters, Amelia, Matilda, Mamie, Esther, Irene and Theresa; grandson, Jeffrey Kremer; and great grandson, Jackson Kremer.
Clara’s twelve children are Ray (Sarah), Joyce, Mark (Debbie), Steve (Marylou) Feller; Connie (Tom) Kremer, Patricia Barron, Doris (Phil) Chrisco all of Evansville; Gary of St. Peters, MO; Betty Schnarr and Rita Feller of Newburgh; Gail (Gary) Kroeger of Boonville and Carol (Gary) Hoffman of Indianapolis, IN.
Clara has 31 grandchildren, Michael (Amy), Daniel, Timothy, Kelly (Bob) Miles, Tony (Nancy) Schnarr, Matt Schnarr, Andrea (Dan) Wiedemann, Nikole Feller, Lesha (David) Yanez, Ryan Hoffman, Andy (Brandi) Kremer, Katie Kremer, Julie (Isaac) Gore, Erin (Jason) Murrell, Nicole (Dusten) Wessel, Paige (Adam) James, Nic (Josie) Kroeger, Kayla Barron Stone, Lindsay Barron, Lee Barron, Chris (Melissa) Feller, Shawn (Stephen) Seng, April (Jason) Downey, Katherine Hicks, Brian, Kimberly, Danielle and Michelle Feller, Jason (Jennifer) Rohrscheib, Adam (Katherine) Rohrscheib, and Luke Rohrscheib. Clara also has 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
The family would like to thank Dr. Karl Sash for his excellent care. We would also like to thank our parents’ neighbors, Warren and Teena Wright for their wonderful friendship, help, care and concern over the years.
