David C. Seeley

David C. Seeley, 87, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away peacefully on July 4, 2026. Born on January 27, 1939, in Cleveland, Ohio, David was the son of the late Alvin and Merial Seeley. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Judith A. Seeley.

David is survived by his loving sons, David Seeley (Tangela) of Harvest, Alabama, and Jeff Seeley (Maryellen) of The Villages, Florida; his cherished granddaughters, Anna, Rachel, Grace and Shaughnessy; his brother, Rob Seeley of Mayfield Heights, Ohio; and many extended family members, lifelong friends, and all whose lives were enriched by knowing him.

A proud patriot, David served honorably in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1960 aboard the USS Helena (CA-75) and the tactical nuclear submarine USS Grayback (SSG-574). Following his military service, he enjoyed a distinguished career with American General Finance, where he retired as Executive Vice President after years of dedicated leadership and service.

David will be remembered as a man of integrity, generosity, and quiet strength. He had a wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room and a kind, giving heart that led him to support numerous charitable causes throughout his life. He found his greatest enjoyment on the water while fishing or boating, on the golf course with friends, or immersed in a good book. More than any accomplishment, however, David treasured the time he spent with his family, whose love and laughter were the center of his life.

His family will remember him as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose wisdom, encouragement, and steady presence shaped their lives in countless ways. Though they mourn his passing, they take comfort in knowing he is reunited with Judith, the love of his life. His legacy of service, compassion, generosity, and unwavering love will continue to live on in those who knew him.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to all who have offered their prayers, support, and kindness during this difficult time. David will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of his family and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261. Family and friends may visit Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
