Dorothy L. Biggs

Dorothy L. Biggs, 81, of Boonville passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022. She was born May 22, 1941 in Newburgh to the late Edward and Loretta (Graehler) Hartz. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Newburgh and was a member of their women’s club. Dorothy volunteered cleaning the church and working at Mother Teresa Treasures, and enjoyed painting. She retired after 25 years from Indiana Farm Bureau and worked for five years at Warrick Titles in their Boonville office. She was a Webelos and Cub Scout leader and loved gardening. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Daniel Biggs, in 2012; sisters, Ruth Lechner, Martha Jane Hartz, Cyrilla Heim and Alberta Jones, and brothers, Edgar and Leroy Hartz. She is survived by her son, Greg Biggs of Indianapolis; brother, Dennis Hartz (Sandy) of Boonville; sister, Connie King (Dave) of Boonville, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:00 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 625 Frame Rd., Newburgh, IN, officiated by Fr. Dusty Burns, with entombment in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Evansville, IN. Family and friends may visit 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, June 10, 2022 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh, IN and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
