Gale A. Langhorst

Gale Ann Langhorst, 83, passed away with family at her bedside on Monday, August 7, 2023 in Newport, Oregon. She was born August 19, 1939 in rural Warrick County to the late Garrel and Margaret (Peacock) Lockhart.

She graduated from Chandler High School and was a beloved custodian at Castle Elementary School for many years. Although she and her husband Richard only had one biological child, Gale was the cherished second mom to the many children she babysat over the years.

She was preceded in death by her dearly loved husband of 64 years, Richard Langhorst.

Gale was an exceptionally loving and tender wife, mother and grandma. She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Langhorst Grall (Ken); granddaughters, Morgan and Sydney Beck, brothers, Garrel Lockhart (Dean) and Gary Lockhart (Kathryn), in-laws, Carol Gainey, Peggy Bauer (Jim), Dan Langhorst (Melinda) and many nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 26, 2023 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, officiated by Rev. Bill Tennyson, with burial in Park Lawn Cemetery.
