Gayle Ann Vaughn

Gayle Ann Vaughn, 78, of Boonville, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at Woodmont Health Campus. She was born July 23, 1939, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Elwood and Mildred Hatchett.

She owned her own beauty shop, La Grandeur, in Evansville for over 20 years. Gayle was known for her Dolly Parton hairstyle. She loved Elvis and Dolly. She was very fun-loving and sweet. She loved her family and enjoyed a close relationship with her siblings.

Gayle was preceded in death by her loving husband of 25 years, Jerry; daughter, Tonya Vaughn; and brother, David Hatchett.

She is survived by her daughter, Vicky Harpenau (Daniel); grandchildren, Christina Ann Turro (Kenneth), Matthew Daniel Harpenau (Kaitlin Baker); great-grandchildren, Lucia, Luke, James, Gabriella; siblings, Leon Hatchett (Joyce), Carole Martin, Nansi Hocker; sister-in-law, Marilyn Hatchett; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank the staff at Woodmont Health Campus for their loving support and care.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2017, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Celebrant Carrie Hatchett with entombment in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit 4-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
