Harold C. Allen II

Harold C. Allen II, 73, died peacefully in his Newburgh home on Saturday, May 18, 2019. He was born on August 16, 1945 in Evansville, Indiana to the late Harold C. and Anna L. Allen. In 1963, he was accepted into the Marine Corps and attended advanced marine training at Camp Geiger in North Carolina. During his tenure, he was awarded a certificate of good conduct and honorably discharged as a sergeant in 1969. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served as a weapons platoon member of H Co, 2nd BN, 3rd Marines, 3rd MARDIV of the United States Marine Corps. Harold spent his career as a printer and also volunteered for the Newburgh FD as a firefighter and retired from Toyota as a member of the emergency response Team. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend. His pride and joy was his children, grandchildren and his dog, Harley. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Velma, his son, Daniel, and his three sisters, Joyce, Caroline, and Janice. He is survived by his wife, Linda; his daughter Lisa Parrish; his two step-daughters, Jennifer and Kristi, and nine grandchildren, Chris, Nick, Ryan, Kiana, Wesley, Adrianna, Chase, Makayla, and Lauren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23, 2019, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Pastor Chuck Woods, with burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
