

He attended Stanley Hall elementary school and graduated from Bosse High School and Evansville University. Marty served four years in the U.S. Air Force, stationed in Weisbaden Germany and Alexandria, LA. He attended First Christian Church. Marty was a member of the American Legion Kapperman Post 44. He volunteered at Deaconess Hospital downtown and Deaconess Gateway as a “Red Coat.” He also previously served on the Board of Historic Newburgh, Inc. and enjoyed volunteering at their fundraisers. Marty retired from ALCOA after 31 years of working in management positions in Alcoa, TN, Pittsburgh, PA, Lafayette, IN, and Newburgh – Warrick Operations. He loved spending time with his family and friends in addition to traveling, fishing, bowling, going to horse races, and watching sports on TV.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Fern (Christie) Martin; and brothers, Leroy and Terry Martin.
Marty is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda, of Newburgh; son, David W. Martin (Lori), of Evansville; grandchildren, Lyndsay Stutzenberger (Eric), Sarah Wyatt (Jeff), Christy Sapp (Joshua); great grandchildren, Raygan and Abby Wyatt; nieces, Kim Greulich (Tim), Sherri Greulich (Jeff), Janna O’Dell (Lynn), and Connie Deweese; and nephew, Don Martin (Wendy Gish).
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Browning and the staff at Oncology Hematology Associates, and Kim Greulich and Lori Martin, for their compassionate care during Marty’s illness.
