

She was a retired hair dresser and had Hilda’s Beauty Shop for 30 years. She was a past President of the Evansville Hair Dressers and a member of the State Board of Indiana Hairdressers. Hilda was also past President of Sun City Center Line Dancers in Florida and past President of Senior Activities at Sun City Center. She was a winner of many awards for oil painting and sewing. Hilda was a member of Newburgh Methodist Church and a member of Oak Folks Sunday School Class. She was also a past member of Newburgh Women’s Club and Newburgh Senior Center.
She was preceded in death by a son, Sydney Wayne Allen; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pearlie Lee O’Bryan; sisters, Helen Wood and Patricia Woodard Haws; Paul Allen; and her husband, William Wollum.
Hilda is survived by her only daughter, Wanda Kavanaugh (William); grandchildren, Melissa Kavanaugh Rea (David) and Tracy Allen Kavanaugh (Rhonda); great-grandchildren, Lindsey Kavanaugh Nickrand (William), Megan Kavanaugh Robbins (Dallas), Kelsey Kavanaugh; Jessica, Jacob and Erica Rea; great-great grandchildren, Aidan and Sydney Nickrand and Tyler Robbins; brother, Paul O'Bryan; nieces and nephews; Woodard family; Wood family; and O’Bryan family; Allen family; Meyer family; and Foster family; step-son, Mark Wollum and Christine Bojar; many friends and loved ones at Signature Healthcare who loved and cared for her; and her friend and hairdresser, JoAnn Schlackter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel officiated by Rev. Chris Nunley with burial at Rose Hill Cemetery. Friends may visit Friday 4-8 PM and Saturday 10 AM until service time at the funeral home.
