I was very sorry to hear about the passing of Ilyene Wise, sister of my mother Imogene Sullivan. After I lost my mom. Ilyene was like a mother to me. I called her sometimes to talk and reminisce. My condolences to Steve and Sean and to everyone else in the family.

I am the daughter of Sis’s twin, Imogene Sullivan. I remember Aunt Sis as one of the strong Cagle women. She cared for her sister Suzy and her twin—my mom—Imogene, all their lives— and when they were dying. She probably never weighed 100 pounds, but no one on this earth was ever stronger, more loving or supportive. And she always had a funny joke to tell! Her laugh, like Suzy’s, was so infectious. My last conversation with her, she asked me to move in with her. I have four grandchildren in MO so I couldn’t. Now I wish I had. So much. So much. I missed so much precious time with Aunt Sis and I deeply regret it. My condolences to all her family and loved ones. She is irreplaceable, unforgettable. She was indomitable. And now she rests with God.

Ilyene was a wonderful neighbor. She cared about everyone around her. When we moved from the neighborhood last year, we surely missed seeing her, and Sean. Chris and I cannot get there on Monday, but know that we are thinking of her and her family and praying for comfort in this time of loss.
