Ivan Jairus Reed Jr.
October 17, 1942 – April 3, 2018

Ivan “Jairus” Reed, Jr., 75, of Chandler, IN, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville. He was born in Evansville on October 17, 1942 to the late Ivan J. and Frieda Reed.
He graduated from Castle High School in 1960 and served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Wasp from 1961-1965. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3418, and a member of Zion U.C.C., American Legion Kapperman Post 44, Newburgh Lodge 174, Scottish Rite - a Hadi Shriner, Moose Lodge in Newburgh, and the NRA. He worked at Alcoa for over 30 years.
Jairus was preceded in death by sons, Ivan J. Reed III and Jason Reed.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Carolyn Reed; daughters, Lisa Garrison (Jim), Rose Holesinger (JR); grandchildren, Michael Garrison, Amanda Garrison, Lillian Holesinger, Rachel Holesinger, Justin Reed, Tabitha Reed; and brothers, Daniel Lee Reed, George C. Reed (Phyllis), and Vern E. Reed (Linda).
Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, April 9, 2018, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel with burial on Reed Cemetery in Boonville. Friends may visit 2-6 PM on Sunday at the funeral home with a Masonic Service held at 6:00 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Disabled Veterans or Shriners Hospital.
