Jagruti Dharmesh Patel, 46, of Newburgh, Indiana, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025. A beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished daughter, sister, and friend, Jagruti’s vibrant spirit and boundless love touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on February 24, 1979, in London, England to Pravin and Ramila Patel, Jagruti's journey was filled with compassion, purpose, and joy. She graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign in 2000 and earned her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Midwestern University in 2004. Her professional career included work at Hook’s Apothecary, but her proudest and most fulfilling role was being a full-time mom to her daughters, Deeya (14) and Layna (12), whom she adored beyond measure.
Jagruti married Dharmesh Patel, on July 30, 2005. Together, they built a life grounded in love, laughter, and adventure. The Hawaiian beaches and shoreline, where the family often traveled, brought Jagruti much peace and happiness.
Her dedication to children extended beyond her own home. As a passionate supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, she served as a wish granter and donor, bringing hope and joy to children in need. Jagruti also had a creative soul—she was an avid crafter and self-proclaimed dessert connoisseur, often quoting: “A party without cake is just a meeting.”
She is survived by her husband, Dharmesh Patel; her daughters, Deeya and Layna Patel; her parents, Pravin and Ramila Patel of Oswego, IL; her sister, Rajeshree and brother-in-law, Sejal Patel of Naperville, IL, along with nieces, Henna (22) and Jayna (18); and her brother, Mitul and sister-in-law, Krupa Patel of Chicago, IL.
Jagruti’s warmth, grace, and unwavering kindness will be missed deeply but remembered always.
Visitation will be 12:00 to 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261. Hindu Funeral Rites will follow. Livestream of the funeral rites is viewable at www.facebook.com/funeralstreamusa
