James Richard Batey

James Richard Batey, 42, of Evansville, IN, passed away Sunday, July 19, 2015, at St. Mary’s Medical Center due to a motorcycle accident. He was born July 31, 1972, to Robert Wayne Batey and Margo (Ours) Pokorney.

He belonged to Masonic Order Constellation Lodge 748, Sons of the American Legion, Kapperman Post 44, and the Legion Riders. James was a lifetime member of Bethel United Church of Christ.

He is survived by his father, Robert Batey (Bettie) of Newburgh; mother, Margo Pokorney (Steve) of Evansville; daughter, Kylie Batey of Buckskin, IN; son, Jackson and daughter, Brooklyn Batey of Evansville; brother, David Batey (Julie) of Newburgh; step-brothers, Paul Bell of Newburgh, John Siford (Riza) of Jersey Shore, PA; step-sisters, Penney Tieken (Darryl) of Woodstock, GA, Cindy Posner (Brad), Suzy Sanso (John), Linda Moore (John), Mary Pressley (Alan) all of Newburgh; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A Celebration of James’ (Big Bear) Life will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 1, 2015, at the American Legion Kapperman Post 44, 711 State Street, Newburgh, IN.
