James “Jim” A. Waterbury, 71, of Newburgh, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Deaconess Hospice Care Center. He was born October 24, 1942, in Evansville, to the late William and Lillian (Seiler) Waterbury.
He was a member of Shepherd of Paradise Lutheran Church and was a US Air Force Veteran. He worked at ARC Construction Company and then retired from Empire Construction Company. He loved hunting and fishing and participated in several Bass Tournaments. He also cherished spending time with his grandson, A.J.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Barry Binney; and sister, Mary Johnson.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty Waterbury; daughter, Tonya Binney; son, Troy Waterbury; grandson, A.J. Binney, all of Newburgh; brothers, Billy and Keith Waterbury, both of Chandler; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved cat, Elsa.
Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, December 28, 2013, at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, officiated by Rev. Edwin Carey, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may visit Friday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
